Artist Statement:
This composition was intended to explore a dissociative state or altered reality. My primary focus was using effects in Adobe Audition to distort sounds and create an unfamiliar auditory soundscape. As the audio progresses, it grows in distortion and intensity until the listener has almost lost a sense of what is happening. Much like John Cage's performance of 4:33 I wanted to push the limits of an auditory experience. I found my composition to be successful in this aspect, however I feel I could have reigned things back for the sake of continuity within the composition.
